56 Fund Update
In late 2020, despite the ongoing pandemic, St. Mark stepped forward in faith to begin the Revitalizing for New Growth capital campaign and building project. The early stages of this effort moved slowly, and yet we continued to hold onto hopeful and aspirational goals in the midst of difficult circumstances. From the beginning, our commitment was clear: to complete each phase only as funds became available and to avoid taking on debt for the church. By God’s grace, we have remained faithful to that goal and have raised overall $640,383 towards the project.
I give thanks to God for every person who has supported this campaign since it began. Because of your generosity, we have already seen significant transformation through the completion of the new chancel area, renovated bathrooms, refreshed narthex, and new carpet throughout the sanctuary. These improvements have already blessed our congregation for more than a year.
We are now beginning to move into the next phase of the project. Currently, we are working with our architect to finalize plans needed to reinforce the sanctuary truss and ceiling structure. Once these plans are approved, we hope to proceed with the necessary structural repairs and improvements that will allow meaningful restoration work to the ceiling itself. At the same time, we are exploring updated lighting throughout the sanctuary, especially within the chancel area.
As the Trustees and Vision Team continue their work, we will do our best to keep the congregation informed as plans develop and progress continues.
Your continued support of the 56 Fund is making these projects possible. More importantly, it is helping us continue the work of improving, updating, and maintaining our facilities so they remain safe, welcoming, and equipped to serve this community for years to come.
